My happy place around campus

My happy place around campus is Alamance. I think it's Elon's most characteristic building and it holds a special place in my heart. It was the only thing I knew for sure about Elon before coming here.

An Elon Professor called Dr. Kurt came to my Spanish University to do a presentation about Elon. I only remember two things about it: the photo on the first slide, and a sentence he said. The picture showed Alamance, and the phrase that left a deep impact on me was: “Those who come to Elon find a family.” That's what I needed, to find a family in a country very different from mine.

At Alamance, there is always someone walking by or sitting next to it. No matter the time of day, there's a sense of constant activity. I love seeing students taking a break, chatting with friends, or just enjoying life. Seeing others enjoying this space reinforces its importance on campus. It is not just a physical location, it is a symbol of our lives at Elon. It transforms a simple water fountain and an old brick building into a key point of our lives. It reaffirms the sense of community and belonging that makes Elon University a special place.

Every time I walk by the Alamance building and fountain, I'm flooded with memories of the moment I decided to come to Elon University. This iconic place became a symbol of the exciting new chapter awaiting me.

I remember when I first arrived here and visited these familiar sights in person. As I stood in front of Alamance and took this picture, I felt an inexplicable sense of belonging.

For me, Alamance is not just a place, it represents the beginning of my adventure at Elon. It reminds me of the excitement and confidence I felt when I chose this university. Walking by it is a constant reminder of the decision that changed my life for the better. Each time I stop by Alamance I reaffirm my choice. It is not only my happy place around campus but also a symbol of a significant and life-changing moment.
